Tips if you don't see one listed in your area:
•Check the online classifieds on craigslist.org for “junk removal” services or for “handyman” and cleaning labor.
•Check your local churches to see if they have volunteer groups to help clean out these types of homes.
•Post on Freecycle.org
•If you don't see a company listed in your area, some people have reported finding companies to clean out these types of homes by searching "crime scene clean-ups" or "meth lab clean-ups."
•Also see our Family Resource Community where members can post known resources.

April Welch, Certified Professional Organizer (CPO)
Simply Organized-509.630.5132
From her site:
Currently, Simply Organized is working with individuals to create a WA State Hoarding
Task Force. In this journey it has been discovered that many in the state are helping
hoarders, however, they do not know that others exists. It is the intent of the Task Force to
bring all related professionals together & offer a well rounded forum of resources.
From the National Center
on Elder Abuse:
Concerned over the high
number of complaints
about "nuisance property"
(many of the cases having
to do with hoarding),
Seattle's Neighborhood
Action Team formed a
working group in the spring
of 2001 to work on these
cases citywide.
Agencies represented
include public health,
design, construction and
land use department, law
enforcement/crisis
intervention team,
Mayor's Office for Senior
Citizens, Evergreen
Healthcare, fire
department, and human
services. The task force's
work has included
development of protocol
for prioritizing cases.
Seattle's citywide initiative
to tackle the problem of
hoarding was reported
October 30, 2002 in the
Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
