We always knew my mom had lots of stuff. When we were kids
we never had much for bedrooms because the rest was filled with boxes.

We had a fire and much of it burned thank god but still she kept getting
more. She and my father divorced in the 80's and we bought her house.
She took some but I was left to clean the rest up. It took us for ever
to go through and get rid of it. She had filled everyroom.

She remarried and got a very nice house. We would keep on her about her getting
more stuff and my stepfather had said it was getting worse. I just went
down and everything is full that there are just paths agian. Enough that
she is filling totes and pilling them out side. I know that I have to
do something. Then I found this site.

It's good you have the autonomy, and you do keep trying and trying. Maybe the best bet is to take her to therapy sessions, i.e. individual and group, with her alone, or with her and any family member(s). Just make sure she goes.

Beware it is very difficult to get them to go. If your mom is as belligerent as my mom is, you need to try even, probably, above all means.

Good Luck.
