Growing Up COH and Adult COH Experiences

She is miraculously going away for
the weekend, I am searching for help, strength, ideas, anything to assist
me in getting everything out this weekend.  I do not know what to do
or where to begin.  It is hard, too, because it is not my stuff.  My

My mother has had a terribly hard life.  My "father" left
her with a mortgage, collective debt, his personal debt and two
daughters.  She worked three jobs so my sister and I could have milk.

She lives
in a gorgeous old home in Kansas City, MO. Unfortunately, i
t is is very bad shape coupled with an immense amount of junk.

She remarried and divorced, he was not so good either. In this time she has become an alcoholic. I decided she
started when I was 11, that was about 17 years ago. Another horrific disease to survive. When I was younger I realized
how bad my situation was and stopped allowing anyone to come over. It was a shameful, sad childhood. I have gone to college, l
ived in Hawaii and Florida.  I am engaged and am fortunate to travel.

However,
I decided last April when I went to my mother's house for a big
sale--this was huge.  She was ready to move out and get rid of her stuff.  The
sale was alright, but I did get inspired.  I convinced my fiance to
move to KC with me for a few months to help my mom.  She called me
drunk and incoherent, begging me not to let her die in that house.  I
asked her to stop drinking and told her that would be over half of her
battle, she said this house is her prison and she does not have the
strength to stop while she is here.

She wants to sell her house , but she has
refinanced at least three times and the market for sellers is pretty
bad right now.  I have been here for 4 months.  She has had a couple
more sales, City Union Mission has come twice and she has gone to class
about eBay and she went to a life coach.  The life coach told her to pack
a suitcase (I told her she could have a car) like the wildfires were
coming and leave for the weekend so her kids could rent a dumpster.  I
told her that is what I said!  When she is around she says, let's try to
sell that, let's give that away, so we missed getting rid of a lot
with the last heavy item pick-up day, I am out of town for the next on
e.  It is hard with her around.

She is miraculously going away for

Thanks for reading and good luck to you
with your hoarders! Purge on!!
