Your story sounds somewhat similar to mine. My mom yells, screams, throws a temper tantrum fit if I even mention cleaning our garages out. One time she scratched the skin off of one side of my face. Though, we were not like you, we did not have to clear paths, nor did I ever spend weeks away from home with old friends to escape the crisis. It was never that bad in our house. I insist calling these storage buildings our 'house' not our home until 'we live' in it. My mom never cleans out our fridge, and/or freezer ever. She's retired, and I am a senior as an undergraduate student at a 1A University. You'd think she has the time to clean house like a real mom/housewife would usually.

I am an extremely neat person, as well. I am a neat freak, a total anal person, because of this mess. My mom is a type B hoarder (type A hoarder being the worst), as I am a type C hoarder (because, she never agrees that we ought to go to goodwill to donate stuff at least once a week). My only problem is compusive buying of food stuff, dry goods, and miscellaneous items, and compulsive overeating. Our home is a level 2 out of 9 (9 being worst). One time, my suite mate made fun of me, she took one of my items I had out for convenience (an electric razor), and moved it 1 in. away from where it was in front of my face. - I just laughed, and thought it was funny, then moved it back. You know that guy on television that renovates homes, and is totally anal, and meticulously immaculate about everything (facing water bottle labels out in the fridge drawer). - He's like my hero. Even though, I am not that bad! I give things freely to goodwill, because I believe in their service.

I would like to store in our casita/garage maybe three bicycles (one for ea. of us; mom, me, and my brother), or a small rv. Also, it'd be nice to have a sheer recycling section in the garage since we have the very wonderful recycle pick-up service here. Some things we have to take to the recycling center ourselves. I keep dreaming of leasing out a space to sell our stuff in a thrift store I open up one day. Though, I do not have any kind of money to do this.

Many things happen to you when you're this much distressed. I just want to live life to its fullest, and not be tied to this junk, recyclables, and trash. I'll make sure we all stay in good health, and pray for each and everyone's mental hoarding problem gets alleviated, because I've had it, and I've had enough.
