I do have family but at this point everyone is in denial about how to handle the clean up. I think that they think if we ignore it that it will go away. I hope that someone has information for you on how to handle this because I could only imagine how hard it is for you to take care of this on your own. I am new to this site but I will keep searching the web and if I find anything that can help you I will post it on this thread. Please do not think you are alone in this because there are many people out there like us. |

-There is a company owned by Susan Campbell called "More than Moving for Seniors" in Richmond, Inc." I wonder if they might have suggestions or even for a fee assist in sorting or moving for someone who has such a hard task to undertake. Just a thought.
-Another thought is the one of our graduates did her doctoral dissertation on hoarding just over a year ago and she might know resources in town. Her name is Susan Murdock and she works for the state department of social services. Her email address is: sjm2@mail1.dss.state.va.us
-Senior Connections is the area agency on aging, serving individuals 60 and older (perhaps the uncle was an elder?). www.seniorconnections-va.org

I wrote some people on Craig's List who offer junk removal/cleaning services to see if they offer any discounted (or free on occassion!) services. I got a response from one so far:
