Late one night she was found passed out
when the paramedics came they had to carry
her out on a board to the ambulance they where not able to bring
anything else in to pick her up. I know my story is no different from other
children of hoarders.I could go on and on. I just can't understand this

My Mother will be 80 years old in November. She has bad health
and is no longer able to drive. How she is able to bring things into
her home is still a mystery. She lives in one room of a 6 room house and
it only has a path to walk through. The other rooms are piled head high
and the doors can only be opened a few inches. Mother has a passion
for sewing and has fabric from the 70's. She keeps everything from cat
food cans, newspapers, magazines, thread spools, you name it. She
considers all the things in her house her treasures. This makes my sisters
and I crazy. We hate to visit because of the conditions, plus there is
nowhere to sit. We have tried having a cleaning out, then we back off for
fear of giving her a heart attack.
My Mother does not hide behind
closed doors she welcomes anyone in and has no shame of her clutter. We are
ashamed for her when people that know her and know us I feel like they
are wondering how we can let her live like she does.
