my dad has died now and i had to clear the house with my
sisters. it took 9 skips. it was exhausting and yet liberating as we had we
been wanting to do it for years. we felt very sad at the condition he
was living in but we had not been allowed in the house for years. He
would not accept our help when he was alive.

The main collection was thousands of videos. Lots of books too. there
was only 1 chair to sit on in the whole house. everywhere was dusty and
dirty. I felt very ashamed when i lived there and couldn't wait to
leave home so that i could live normally.

I still have trouble letting people into my normal house because it was
ingrained into me not to let anyone in and i forget that i don't have
to feel ashamed anymore.

my house is minimalist and i love it. i love being allowed to throw
stuff away.
