Re: Some Voices of Daughters (Score: 1) by Cyndi on Friday, April 11, 2008 @ 13:39:02 ICT (User Info | Send a Message) | | I just had to comment to you, as I am the in the exact same boat as you are. My mother is the hoarder and I havent' been in her house since college, I am 37. I have always tried to maintain a relationship with her, my brother has distanced himself. I have never confronted her, but have decided to do that tonight. I believe the hoarding killed my father, and my childhood was a series of lies to cover up the house situation. She seems "normal" to outsiders, but she is wasting her life and it kills me! She is the only parent I have left, but the stress of the relationship may just not be worth it anymore. Know you are not alone... |
