I am a 33 year old woman who has 2 daughters.  My Mother is a hoarder.  My children have never been to their Grandma and Grandpa's home.  My kids are still young but I know the questions will soon come, why they don't go to that Grandparents home?  I am the youngest of 4 children and ever since I can remember my family has had hoarding problems.  My mother is the hoarder and everyone in my family will not address the issues.  I have tried all my adult life to not be like my Mother (in the hoarding) but I am finding that year after year it is getting harder.  With the kids and their things it has gotten hard to toss things out.  I will just have to keep myself in check.  I guess I just hope that things NEVER get to anywhere near how we used to live while I was a child.  I know that everyone on here thinks that their family was bad but to top off the hoarding we also had many house pets.  Lets just say most people would not believe our living conditions.  I do also remember living one winter without eletricity.   Many of my memories are good but I also have trouble remembering some things I think due to the fact that I just don't want to remember.
