Whether it's Jimmy Choo shoes, antique clothing or even old copies of their favorite magazine, most women will admit to collecting something in their lifetime. But when does it turn from hobby into hoarding--a life-altering obsession--and mental illness?

In Part One of our two-part series, we'll meet Jennifer, a wife and mother of two, who says says that the thousands of things she has amassed from flea markets, thrift stores and the streets are treasures. Her 13-year-old daughter, Betty, disagrees and thinks her mother's obsession is just plain embarrassing.

This is a very intelligent, enthusiastic, loves discovering new things, woman. I really want to like her in the context of a museum curator, teacher, antique store owner, etc., but her home is not the appropriate receptacle for these things. If one loves lots of animals, there is much needed volunteering at animal shelters. When does this talent become misguided when it could be useful and admired?

Please post part II of this series when it's available. It's very interesting and I'm afraid I'll miss it.

I like the woman too and I understand where she's coming from, but she says herself that she doesn't want to stop because it gives her "such a kick". A scary statement if ever there was one! You all know what I mean...
